Sony is taking cloud gaming to new heights by allowing gamers to stream select PS Store demos directly through PS Plus Premium. While game trials were already accessible this way, the real innovation is in the ability for players to enjoy demos without downloading them, thanks to Sony’s expanded cloud streaming capabilities.
Recently, some Reddit users pointed out that while only a handful of demos can currently be streamed, this includes the new release, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. These demos are available to everyone, but if you’re a PS Plus Premium subscriber, you’ll notice a shiny new “Stream Demo” option that makes trying them out a lot more convenient.
Just as a little reminder, popular free-to-play titles like Fortnite and Destiny are also ready to be streamed if you’re using PS Plus Premium. However, do note that the availability of these streamable games might differ depending on where you’re located.
Sony has indeed made significant progress in cloud streaming, although it’s still in the beta phase on the PS Portal. We’ve recently shared that the remote player can now stream over 200 games directly, so there’s no longer a need to have your PS5 connected. All you require to dive in is a PS Plus Premium membership.
For now, Sony has yet to announce when this cloud streaming feature will be available globally, but gamers around the world are certainly excited to see where this promising technology heads next.
