People Can Fly, a well-known name in the gaming industry from Poland, is diving back into familiar territory with the Gears of War series.
Announced on their website, the studio revealed they’re teaming up with Xbox’s in-house team, The Coalition, to work on the much-anticipated Gears of War: E-Day. People Can Fly isn’t new to this universe; they were the brains behind 2013’s Gears of War: Judgment and contributed to the development of the initial three installments of the sci-fi shooter saga.
Sebastian Wojciechowski, the CEO of People Can Fly, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Returning to work on the next chapter of this iconic series is truly both an honor and an exciting chance to expand on the thrilling action and deep narrative that fans cherish. We’re truly thankful for the trust and support from our partners in this endeavor.”
Adding to the excitement, The Coalition’s studio head, Mike Crump, shared, “Gears of War: E-Day represents more than just our next big release; it marks a return to the core elements that make Gears of War unique and genuine. We’re thrilled to collaborate with the skilled team at People Can Fly, who have long been integral to the series’ fabric.”
Interestingly, even with this exciting project on the horizon, 2024 saw People Can Fly reducing its workforce by over 150 positions.
