Some Overwatch 2 maps come with their own set of quirks and features, one of which left a D.Va player in quite a predicament on the Esperança Push map. It seems a tree on this map can trap players, as shown in a humorous clip where a D.Va needed a helping hand from an enemy Reinhardt and Lifeweaver to break free.
In Overwatch 2, creative players often find unique ways to take advantage of map quirks, though sometimes they lead to unforeseen hiccups. An unfortunate D.Va player on the Esperança map learned this the hard way. Despite the map’s age—it debuted with the Push game mode when Overwatch 2 launched in 2022—players continue to stumble upon such peculiarities well after the maps are introduced.
While there has been vocal discontent within the community regarding the game’s monetization, Overwatch 2 has consistently introduced a wealth of content more frequently than its predecessor. From cosmetics and maps to new heroes, the sequel has brought a substantial array of additions. In 2024 alone, two new maps were unveiled to support the new Clash game mode, enriching the gaming experience.
The release of Season 15 hasn’t added fresh maps in 2025 yet, but it has packed plenty of new content. A recently shared clip from a player known as French_Taylor showcased a comical scenario where a baby D.Va player became stuck behind a tree on Esperança. Attempting to call down the mech near a bridge center-stage, they found themselves unable to move once suited up, humorously highlighting the quirks that still exist.
With the help from the opposing team, a delightful interaction unfolded. An enemy Reinhardt tried repeatedly to free the trapped D.Va by destroying the mech, while a Lifeweaver used their Petal Platform to elevate and liberate the D.Va from the clutches of the tree. Although becoming ensnared in such a spot has been possible since the map’s inception, it’s a rare occurrence that other tanks or large characters could eventually face, especially with certain abilities like Lifeweaver’s Life Grip or Roadhog’s ultimate potentially nudging them into sticky situations.
Overwatch 2 has a history of players finding themselves entrapped on various maps. Blizzard occasionally delivers necessary tweaks, refining these spaces over time. However, this amusing clip serves as a cheerful reminder for D.Va players to always be aware of their surroundings when calling in their mech.
