Capcom has just dropped some exciting news: they are remastering the much-loved PlayStation 2 game, Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny, and it’s slated for release on the Nintendo Switch.
For those unfamiliar, this game is the direct follow-up to Onimusha: Warlords and it made waves by selling 2.1 million copies worldwide, comfortably earning its place as the top-selling title in the series.
The game introduces us to a new hero, Jubei Yagyu, who embarks on a gripping journey of revenge. Interestingly, his look is inspired by the late Yusaku Matsuda, an iconic Japanese actor who rose to fame in the 1980s.
Players can expect the remastered version to stay true to the original’s atmospheric setting and engaging gameplay mechanics but with some fresh enhancements and adjustments to suit the capabilities of modern gaming consoles.
This revitalized adventure will be available for purchase digitally on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch, with a global release date set for 2025.
