There’s excitement in the air today, January 23, as Marvel Rivals has rolled out a fresh update. Known as the Spring Festival, this update brings a new mode that’s perfect for those who enjoy a high-energy kickabout alongside their superhero face-offs.
So, put those detailed Venom main instructions on hold—especially if your friend’s struggling to not fall off edges—and get ready to kick a lantern into the goal while sporting a dragon costume.
This in-game Spring Festival kicks off with several offerings, but the highlight is definitely the new Limited-Time Game Mode: Clash of Dancing Lions. As the trailer shows, it puts Iron Fist, Star-Lord, and Black Widow in a superhero soccer scenario.
The goal is to take control of a Lunar New Year lantern ball and score by running it into your rival’s net until you achieve the winning score. Abilities, aerial maneuvers, and powerful tackles will be your tools as you battle it out, dishing out damage in trademark superhero style.
This action unfolds in the Wakanda World Arena, reminiscent of a Rocket League pitch, complete with large glass barriers to keep the ball in play. Instead of traditional uniforms, the festival introduces three fresh skins for the lion-dancing trio, embracing the Lunar New Year spirit. Notably, Star-Lord’s Lion’s Mane skin is available for free during the event.
Alongside these additions, the update includes the usual patches and game tweaks expected from a new drop. These were released yesterday and address issues with maps and hero bugs. Full patch notes detail all the changes.
