Acer has just rolled out six new models of their Radeon RX 9070 series graphics cards. These include both base and overclocked (OC) versions, boasting impressive boost clock speeds that can reach up to 3.1 GHz.
In a recent announcement, AMD’s partner, Acer, revealed a fresh lineup of RDNA 4 GPUs, with new BiFrost and Nitro editions hitting the market. Although Acer has been creating AMD cards for quite some time, they haven’t been as prominent as some top-tier AMD partners. This time around, they’re introducing six different models, with three variations for each GPU.
The collection features two Nitro editions for the Radeon RX 9070 XT and Radeon RX 9070, alongside one BiFrost edition for each GPU. The BiFrost versions are all about sleek aesthetics combined with advanced cooling, while the Nitro versions cater to a broader audience, delivering impressive specs nonetheless.
Let’s start with the BiFrost series. The Acer BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB offers a triple-fan cooling system with a slick design and distinctive silver accents encircling the middle fan. This cooler integrates FrostBlade 4.0 fans designed for optimized heat dissipation with their counter-spin mechanics. Measuring about 295 mm long and 2.5 slots thick, this model comes factory-overclocked up to a zippy 3.1 GHz, setting the stage for a top-notch gaming experience.
Meanwhile, the Acer BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 OC 16 GB shares a similar design but opts for two 8-pin power connectors instead of the three on the XT version. Interestingly, despite the fact that the RX 9070 generally requires less power, both models are rated at 340W. While technically, the dual 8-pin connectors plus the PCI-E x16 slot supply enough power for 340W, it limits overclocking potential compared to the BiFrost RX 9070 XT OC.
Next up, we have the Acer Nitro series, offering both regular and OC models for the RX 9070 cards. The Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC similarly features a triple-fan setup, hitting up to 3.1 GHz in boost clock speed and matching the BiFrost edition’s measurements and power configuration with three 8-pin connectors, boasting a 340W TDP. Conversely, the standard Nitro RX 9070 XT card is clocked at 304W despite keeping all three power connectors. As a non-OC model, it reaches 2970 MHz in boost and 2.4 GHz when in game mode.
Rounding out the lineup are the Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 OC and RX 9070 16 GB versions, with maximum clock speeds of 2.7 GHz and 2.52 GHz, respectively. The OC model has a power requirement of 245W, while the non-OC is set at 220W; both share a similar design.
Although Acer hasn’t disclosed the full pricing details for all models, they’ve mentioned that the Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB will be priced at a remarkable $829.99. Expect the BiFrost editions to have an even steeper price tag. As for availability, Acer has only confirmed that the Nitro RX 9070 XT OC will be hitting shelves in the US this April.
