Koei Tecmo, the storied Japanese gaming company, has named Hisashi Koinuma as its incoming CEO. Koinuma, who has held the roles of chief operating officer as well as president and general manager of the company’s entertainment division, is set to step into his new position on April 1, 2025.
In a strategic move to sharpen its focus, Koei Tecmo is also undergoing a division into two separate entities: Koei Tecmo Games and Koei Tecmo Corporate Finance. This restructuring is aligned with the company’s ambitious goal of establishing itself as the world’s leading digital entertainment firm, guided by their core ethos of “creativity and contribution.”
The firm has been meticulously planning this management evolution, engaging in in-depth discussions within its Nomination and Compensation Committee. This new leadership framework is designed to propel Koei Tecmo towards greater heights of growth and profitability as it embarks on this fresh phase starting from the 2025 fiscal year.
