Excitement is building for Destiny 2 fans as Bungie unveils fresh details about the fragile mods introduced in the upcoming Episode Heresy. Scheduled for launch on February 4, Episode Heresy is set to shake up the game, although there are still many surprises left in store. Ahead of the release, Bungie has been generous, dropping substantial hints and previews.
A recent Destiny 2 livestream was a treasure trove for fans, giving them a fantastic preview of Episode Heresy. One of the highlights was the introduction of a new activity called The Nether, which cleverly borrows elements from the corrupted Leviathan from Season of the Haunted. Blending exploration with combat, players will embark on a thrilling journey into the Dreadnaught, encountering unique challenges and adversaries designed to make each playthrough feel novel and engaging.
In addition to this immersive gameplay, fans were treated to an exciting weapons showcase. Bungie confirmed the return of cherished weapons from the Season of Arrivals and the Vault of Glass, including the fan-favorite hand cannon, Fatebringer. But the spotlight was on the newcomers of Episode Heresy, particularly the Strand-powered autorifle named Adamantite and the grenade launcher called Psychopomp. Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of this “Heretical Arsenal” is the innovative mechanism known as Fragile Mods.
Delving deeper into Fragile Mods, these enhancements offer a distinct set of perks that can elevate a weapon’s capabilities, giving players an edge with more diverse build options. According to Bungie’s latest blog post, obtaining these mods requires some effort and, notably, only two will be available in the initial act of the episode. More mods will be rolled out in Acts 2 and 3, but players should note that these mods are temporary, only available through the duration of Episode Heresy.
The idea that these Fragile Mods are temporary might not be entirely unexpected for seasoned players. Destiny 2 is constantly evolving, with a new phase titled Codename Frontiers on the way this summer. With much about this new phase still under wraps, players are aware that seasonal content often gets rotated or removed to make way for new expansions, which seems to be the plan here as well.
It’s an exciting time for Destiny 2 as Bungie continues to enrapture players with thrilling updates and dynamic content. As Episode Heresy looms, fans can anticipate a wave of new experiences and challenges that will surely keep them engaged.
