ASRock’s Radeon RX 9070 series GPUs have recently made an appearance online, showcasing the upcoming custom models: Steel Legend and Taichi.
With the official release still pending, ASRock has unveiled a sneak peek of its custom lineup for AMD’s RDNA 4 GPUs, focusing on the Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT. While other AIB partners have yet to reveal their designs, ASRock’s models have surfaced, featuring the Steel Legend, Taichi, and Challenger models. The Taichi series appears to be the standout as ASRock’s flagship model, boasting a sophisticated triple-fan setup and a hefty heatsink, which contributes to its three-slot card design.
One notable aspect of the Taichi variant is its 12V-2×6 power connector. Not every model will include this feature, as AMD has provided AIB partners with the flexibility to choose based on the power demands of each model. The 12V-2×6 connector can handle up to 600W of power, indicating that the Taichi model is built for impressive specifications and enhanced overclocking potential.
Moving on to the Steel Legend variant, it is positioned as ASRock’s mid-range option, available in striking white and silver color variants. This model adopts a 2.5-slot triple fan configuration. Unlike the Taichi, it utilizes a more common 2x 8-pin connector, which is the standard for AMD’s AIB models, barring only the high-end versions like the Taichi.
As for when these models will be hitting the shelves, industry whispers suggest that next week could be the time to look forward to, coinciding with AMD’s anticipated pre-order launch for the RX 9070 series GPUs.
