Take-Two Interactive recently announced that it is more than likely going to support the Nintendo Switch 2, although the company remains tight-lipped about any additional information for now.
Take-Two has a history of bringing popular titles to the original Nintendo Switch, such as BioShock: The Collection, Borderlands Legendary Collection, and XCOM 2 Collection. They also released hits like Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, New Tales from the Borderlands, LEGO 2K Drive, and the more recent NBA 2K25 and Sid Meier’s Civilization VII on the platform.
CEO Strauss Zelnick, during the publisher’s Q3 2025 earnings call, stated, “We’ve maintained a long-standing partnership with Nintendo, always choosing to back their platforms when it made sense for each release.” He noted that there was a time when Nintendo’s consoles were primarily aimed at younger gamers, which influenced their release schedule. However, with the current Nintendo Switch and the anticipated Switch 2, he sees the potential to reach a broader audience. He pointed out, “Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is already available on Switch. While we don’t have details to share right now, we certainly expect to support Switch 2 in the future.”
For those eager to learn more about Nintendo’s upcoming console, mark your calendars for a special Nintendo Direct presentation. The Nintendo Switch 2 will be unveiled at this event, scheduled to broadcast at 6 AM PT, 9 AM ET, 2 PM BST, and 3 PM CEST on Wednesday, April 2.
As for the Nintendo Switch 2 itself, it is set to launch globally in 2025. However, an official release date is still under wraps.
