Happy New Year, Travelers! The Genshin Impact development team hopes you have a fantastic start to 2025. As we kick off the new year, we’re thrilled to unveil what’s coming in Version 5.4, “Moonlight Amidst Dreams,” slated for release on February 12. Get ready to journey back to Inazuma, the land of Electro, where a lavish celebration is in store for you. There, you’ll meet a new friend, Yumemizuki Mizuki, and reconnect with beloved characters like Raiden Shogun and Yae Miko, who are gathering for the Mikawa Flower Festival. This captivating event is a unique intersection of human and youkai cultures, where all are invited to celebrate under the magical glow of Inazuma’s moonlit sky.
In the shadow of Mt. Yougou, the Mikawa Flower Festival is set to dazzle like never before. Once a grand assembly for youkai from ancient times, the festival has blossomed into a lively celebration that welcomes both humans and youkai. Blending tradition with fresh energy, it’s a one-of-a-kind event that promises to forge unforgettable memories and friendships. A highlight this year is the “48-hour Game Development Competition,” a new special event. Some whispers around the festival hint at a special appearance by Raiden Shogun, who might be digging into a mysterious nightmare linked to an old acquaintance…
During this competition, humans and youkai will team up over two days to create original games. Thanks to the magic of the Kitsune Meal, communication barriers fall as youkai gain the ability to speak in human language. This collaboration blends mystical powers with human creativity, inspiring exciting new mini-games.
Our first delightful entry, “A Little Fox’s Daydream,” has Mizuki and Kokomi guiding you through a whimsical journey of dreams, where a little fox navigates between sweet fantasies and creeping nightmares to find delicious fried tofu and reach its goals.
Next, brace yourself for “Bunshin Phantasm,” a test of strategy and teamwork brought to life by Sayu, Yoimiya, and Kichiboushi. Maneuver the adorable Muji-Muji Daruma mimicry to activate pressure plates and pave your way to victory.
And don’t skip “Akitsu Harpastum: Dreams Doubled,” from Thoma and his youkai friends! This inventive blend of the classic brick breaker game “Akitsu Yuugei” with elements of Mondstadt’s harpastum offers both solo and co-op play. Completing these mini-games will net you Festival Stamps, which can be exchanged for fabulous rewards, including the 4-star polearm, “Tamayuratei no Ohanashi.”
We’ve also introduced an enticing twist with the Aisa Bathhouse’s new line of Mikawa Flower Festival-themed bathrobes, influenced by its major shareholder and the newly introduced 5-star character, Yumemizuki Mizuki! As a yumekui-baku, Mizuki can consume nightmares. Her dual role as a clinical psychologist harnesses this power for healing, guiding clients through their darkest fears. During Mizuki’s Story Quest, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the Aisa Bathhouse and maybe even experience her transformative treatments yourself.
In battle, Mizuki excels as a versatile 5-star Anemo catalyst user. She seamlessly merges Swirl DMG with healing skills, making her a flexible addition to any team configuration, especially those favoring Pyro, Electro, Hydro, or Cryo elements. Her Elemental Skill transitions Mizuki into the Dreamdrifter state, where she elegantly floats, emitting periodic AoE Anemo DMG and enhancing her team’s Swirl DMG.
Mizuki’s strategic versatility extends to her healing abilities, adapting to the conditions of her team. Her Elemental Burst draws in enemies and creates “Yumemi Style Special Snacks,” which can be collected to either heal or deal AoE Anemo DMG based on the current character’s HP. Her unique talent further amplifies healing by increasing HP recovery by 30% when dishes are used.
Keep an eye out for Mizuki’s savvy combat tip: during her Dreamdrifter state, her range for collecting Yumemi Style Special Snacks expands, helping you grab them quickly amidst the frenzy of battle.
The Event Wishes for Version 5.4 kick off with Yumemizuki Mizuki’s debut and Sigewinne’s return, followed by reruns of Furina and Wriothesley in the second phase. Expect Mizuki to join the Standard Wish banner post the Version 5.5 update.
Reacquainting with old friends never loses its charm! Besides catching up with familiar faces at the Mikawa Flower Festival, keep your eyes peeled in the open world for the “Travelers’ Tales: Anthology Chapter” event. Simply seek out the anecdote icons on your map to catch up on their latest adventures.
For combat-fanatics, the “Realm of Tempered Valor” event brings a challenging series of floors to conquer, either solo or in Co-Op Mode. Reach select milestones, and an exclusive Namecard awaits!
If you’re up for more activities, try your hand at the multiplayer fishing mini-game, “Invasive Fish Wrangler,” or take on ad-editing commissions alongside your old pal, Xavier!
We’re also dedicated to enhancing your experience through Quality of Life updates. The new Level-Up Plans feature in the “Training Guide” will allow you to set goals, calculate necessary materials, and find where to acquire them. You’ll see prompts for required materials in several key interfaces, including the Adventurer Handbook, Domain entrances, screens, and Battle Pass rewards.
Crafting materials is also getting easier! Simply click “Craftable Amount” to teleport straight to the Crafting Bench. An Auto Add button is also being added to streamline the Weapon Refinement interface.
And that wraps up today’s update! We hope you reconnect with old friends and forge new memories at the Mikawa Flower Festival. Enjoy the festivities and sweet dreams in Version 5.4. We’ll see you on your next epic adventure!
